San Deigo Brow Lift (Browplasty)
La Jolla Brow Lift Surgery specialist, Dr. James C. Pietraszek offers experienced and quality care for San Diego patients that are looking to enhance their look with a brow lift or forehead lift. A Browlift (Browplasty), also known as a forehead lift, is a surgical procedure used to elevate a drooping eyebrow. Throughout one’s life, the sun’s radiation, stress, gravity, and other factors cause the skin to sag and fit more loosely. Areas of the face and neck, in particular around the jaw line, are especially prone to the aging process. Though these changes are gradual, wrinkles and other signs of aging can make individuals “feel older” than they really are.
A Browlift is a great procedure option for someone that may be looking to smooth and firm the skin around the eyebrow and forehead, providing a fresh, youthful appearance.

Reasons for Considering a Brow Lift:
General Brow Lift Procedure
The brow lift procedure involves a surgical technique where your doctor separates and re-suspends the facial soft tissues that have descended down due to time and gravity and removes selected muscles causing wrinkles. In some cases an upper eye lid surgery and fat grafting to the peri-orbital region may be recommended. This procedure can simultaneously fill and re-store the lost/resorbed facial volume that creates the hollow look around the upper eye lid and the deep groove between the eye brows. In almost all cases, there are no visible scars after the procedure has been completed.
A browlift can take several hours depending on whether other cosmetic procedures are completed at the same time. Sometimes other procedures may be performed in separate appointments. Patients can discuss with their physician which method(s) are best for them when they come in for their consultation.
Brow Lift Recovery Process
Immediately after surgery, the eyebrow area may be fitted with bandages in order to decrease the recovery time and to reduce swelling. Generally, post-operative instructions call for plenty of rest and limited movement in order to speed up the healing and recovery process. The stitches, clips or staples are normally removed within a week. Patients sometimes report some minor pain associated with surgery. Any discomfort can be treated effectively with oral medication. While complications are rare, patients can minimize potential problems by carefully following the directions given after the procedure.
